When is a bank not just a bank? Simple: When it not only connects with other local businesses, but also has strong roots in the local community. The Queen Anne Chamber is proud to feature such a bank for its March Chamber Member profile: Umpqua Bank.
Umpqua Bank, which is located at 1630 Queen Anne Ave N, has been a member of the Queen Anne community for the last five years. Its commitment to being an active member of the community is evident in the many activities that the bank has been involved with over the years.
“Umpqua gets involved in many ways, both financially and through volunteer time,” says Travis Brown, branch manager. “Over the past year, we’ve hosted after-hours events for neighboring businesses, and we were the Chamber’s Title Sponsor for the “Queen Anne Days” and “Trick or Treat on the Avenue.”
Travis also explains that his bank is proud to offer some amazing programs just for kids and we asked him to elaborate on those activities.
“Umpqua is very involved in the local schools through supporting various events by bringing the Umpqua freezer full of ice cream to give away to kids. In addition, we have a ‘Learn to Earn’ program that allows kids to open an account (with an adult). If they come into the store to deposit on a Tuesday, they receive ‘Umpqua Bucks’ for their deposit, which can be redeemed for fun toys and games. This helps encourage kids to save early.”
What’s in store for Umpqua Bank in the coming months?
“Umpqua Bank is partnering with the Chamber and Bloodworks Northwest to do a ‘Donate & Dine’ event on Monday, March 27th in front of the Umpqua Bank,” says Travis. “All registered blood donors at this special blood drive will receive a complimentary $10 gift card/gift certificate to a local restaurant or coffee house. If anyone would like to get involved, here is the link to register. www.bloodworksnw.org/dine.”
Congrats, Travis and Umpqua Bank—we’re proud that you're a Chamber member! Learn more about Umpqua Bank.
