"Local and lots of history."

For the month of March, the Queen Anne Chamber selected one of the most iconic hotels in Seattle, the MarQueen Hotel. Located at 600 Queen Anne Avenue North in what is known as Uptown, this hotel has a rich history, and is in one of the neighborhood's iconic building. And the hotel is celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year!

We asked MarQueen Hotel's Louis Galdeira, a few questions.

What is your title and how long have you been associated with the MarQueen Hotel?  Director of Sales since October 2017.

What is the best part of your job?  Managing each guest experience and making their stay something to talk about…I love seeing people happy.

Judy de Jonge, one of the bookstore's co-owners.

Louis Galdeira III, Director of Sales

What are the top 3 things that distinguishes your hotel from the others in Seattle, besides the fact that it’s in an iconic and historical building?

  • The hotel is a locally owned and managed company with history of development
  • Every room has a small kitchen in a studio apartment style fashion
  • No one room is the same as far as sq. footage, uniqueness and amenities – basically not the cookie cutter 360 sq. ft unit.

What are the top 3 or 4 countries that your guests are visiting from? United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada

Besides the Space Needle and Pike Place Market, what other tourist destination is popular with your guests? Visitors go to Kerry Park, go on the famous Underground Tour of the city, ferry excursions, casinos, the opera, ballet, and the Seattle Center.

The MarQueen Hotel is hosting the Queen Anne Chamber's March After Hours in its Tin Lizzie Lounge. Lots of drinks, appetizers, and a just great place to network and catch up with other Chamber members and guests! Join us and meet Louis and his team at this historic and iconic hotel!
